Robert “John” Pritchard

John Pritchard has over 44 years’ experience in contracting and acquisition. He was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force in 1979 and entered the Contracting Career Field. His Air Force career included numerous positions including Director of Contracts on two major System Program Offices at the National Reconnaissance Office; Commander, Defense Contract Management Office, Buffalo, NY; Deputy Director of Contracts, Secretary of Air Force Special Projects (SAF/SP); Procuring Contracting Officer on the Global Positioning System (GPS) Program, Los Angeles AFB; and Chief of Supply, Los Angeles AFB, CA. He retired from the military in 1999,

Upon military retirement John entered private industry. He was Manager, Contracting and Pricing for the Boeing Company supporting the National Missile Defense Program. He later joined Raytheon as Manager, Business Development for Air Force Space and Special Programs.

John later accepted a position as a Professor of Contract Management at the Defense Acquisition University. He held numerous DAU positions including being a Course Manager, Director of A-76 Competitive Sourcing Program, and continuously development/taught many DAU 100-300 level contracting courses. In April 2005, he joined the Defense Systems Management College supporting executive (400 level) courses. He executed numerous performance support efforts providing high dollar weapons system programs consulting services. John retired from Civil Service in 2019. However, he still continues as an Intermittent Professor at Defense Systems Management College.

He has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Science (MS) in Procurement and Acquisition Management, Northrop University, Los Angeles, California. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Air Force’s Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College.
